When you type something into an AI tool, it leaves your device and goes to a company's computers. Many services store those conversations, and some use them to improve their systems.

So the working assumption should be: anything you type in is no longer private.

That's fine for "explain this Python error". It is not fine for things that belong to you or to somebody else.

A clear list. Never paste:

• Your address, phone number, school name with your full name
• Passwords — ever, for any reason
• Other people's personal details — a friend's number, a classmate's marks
• Photos of people who haven't agreed
• Anything confidential belonging to family or school

That third one is the one people forget. Your friend didn't agree to be typed into an AI service — and it isn't your information to share.
