Lesson 3 · Computational Thinking
Build a decision tree for what to do after school.
You now have every piece you need: conditions that answer yes or no, actions that follow them, and trees that chain them together.
This lesson is one build. You're going to design a planner that decides what you should do after school today — and it has to work for any day, not just today.
That last part is what makes it real engineering rather than a one-off answer.
Most people start by writing questions. That's backwards, and it leads to sprawling trees.
Start by listing the endings. What could you actually end up doing? Homework, cricket, music practice, helping at home, rest.
Once the outcomes are on paper, the questions almost write themselves — each one exists purely to separate those outcomes from each other. Any question that doesn't help you choose between endings is a question you can delete.
